Simple visual boards

• Miro is a hub for your team, where you can visualize, share and collect ideas.
• Trello web-based, kanban-style, list-making application.
• Jamboard is a digital interactive whiteboard.

Channel-based messaging

• Slack and
• Discord are both channel-based messaging tools designed for teams. In both apps, you can communicate through direct messaging, private groups, and chat rooms.

Collaboration and project management tools

• Notion is a freemium productivity and note-taking web application.
• Clickup is an alternative.

Typing assistant

• Grammarly is a cloud-based typing assistant. It reviews spelling, grammar, punctuation, clarity, engagement, and delivery mistakes in English texts, detects plagiarism, and suggests replacements for the identified errors.
• Writefull gives highly advanced language feedback on any text you write in a Word document. It also offers four big data and AI-based widgets that help you write: the Language Search, Sentence Palette, Title Generator, and Paraphraser. Grammarly focuses on fixing general English, such as emails.  Writefull's focus is research writing. As Writefull's language models have been trained on published papers.

Research assistant

• Elicit is a research assistant using language models like GPT-3 to automate parts of researchers’ workflows. Currently, the main workflow in Elicit is Literature Review. If you ask a question, Elicit will show relevant papers and summaries of key information about those papers in an easy-to-use table.
• Semantic Scholar is an artificial intelligence–powered research tool for scientific literature

AI Chatbot

• ChatGPT is a multipurpose OpenAI chatbot. Very useful for brainstorming, and formal and creative writing. Beware that it does not link to real sources of data.
• Bing Chatbot is the Microsoft search engine based on GPT-4. This one links to actual webpages and provides resources, but is much less useful for brainstorming and creative writing.
